Central Bank of Germany. It was established in 1957 with full independence from the Government due to the bad memory of hyperinflation suffered in Germany in 1923. In 2002 a new law came into force that restructured the Bundesbank, taking into account its incorporation into the European System of Central Banks. Locally known as Buba.
